Like many in our community, Lauren has lived in Highlands County all her life and is a Lake Placid High School graduate. Faith, family and freedom are central pillars in Lauren's life. She understands the values and experiences that shape our home because she was raised by them.
Lauren married her high school sweetheart, Brad, and together they are raising their three children here. She remains an active member of the community through her portrait business, volunteering and youth mentoring.
With a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida and extensive experience as a curriculum committee member, a community advisory council member and a long-term substitute, Lauren is committed to bringing her knowledge and passion for education to the school board.
Lauren has devoted countless hours attending board meetings and workshops. She has done her homework when it comes to understanding the local policies and curriculum that impact our schools and children.
As a parent and active community, Lauren cares deeply about the same issues that are important to voters - strong schools, thriving youth, & a healthy community. She is running to be a voice for these shared priorities.
Lauren's local roots, community ties, background knowledge, and passion for priorities make her qualified and relatable. She brings a renewed dedication for success in our schools.
Children of Highlands County have the right to a quality education. Sadly, Highlands County ranks amongst the worst in the State for education. We CAN do better! As an energetic and committed parent and community member, she feels called to be a part of the solution to work towards a brighter future.
Lauren understands the success of our students is directly tied to the partnership with parents & the community. Lauren will vote for policies that remove barries, and invite partnerships. Only through a commonsense of purpose shared by the community and the schools can the educational needs of each unique student be achieved.
Drawing from her own experiences at countless school board meetings, and engagement she will be courteous and respectful to all and listen to community concerns. Trust and transparency are the foundation on which she will build if given the opportunity to serve as your School Board member for District 2.
